Rabbot Terms of Service
Effective
Rabbot is a monitoring app for Shopify stores. It watches the pages and products you choose to monitor, along with any channel you connect, and tells you when something breaks. These terms are the agreement between you and us for using it. They are written in the same plain language as the rest of the app, and they say what we will do, what we will not, and where the limits sit.
The short version
- Rabbot can only read. It never changes anything in your store.
- It is a business tool for Shopify merchants, installed and authenticated through Shopify.
- Billing runs through Shopify's app billing, and there is a free tier. Current plan detail lives on Shopify's own plan page for Rabbot and on our Shopify App Store listing, never on this page, so nothing here can go stale against them.
- Monitoring is best-effort. We do not promise to catch every problem, and there is no service level agreement on the free tier.
- Uninstall whenever you like. What happens to your data afterwards is set out in the Privacy Policy.
- The law of England and Wales governs this agreement.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Rabbot is operated by Gorevoker Studio ("Gorevoker Studio", "we", "us"), the
trading name of a sole trader in the United Kingdom. We run the Rabbot app for Shopify and the
service at app.rabbot.ai. In these terms, "you" means the merchant who installs Rabbot, and
"your store" means the Shopify store you install it on. We are reachable, for anything to do
with these terms, at [email protected]. Any notice you
need to give us in writing goes to that address.
Installing Rabbot, or using it after it is installed, means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, uninstall the app and stop using the service. If you are installing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that business.
The Privacy Policy forms part of these terms. Where the two say something about the same thing, such as what happens to your data after you uninstall, the Privacy Policy is the more detailed of the two and governs.
2. What Rabbot does
Rabbot checks the pages and products you have chosen to monitor on a recurring cycle. When a check finds something broken, it emails you, and posts to Slack if you have connected it. Where you authorise it, Rabbot can also read a channel you connect, so what that channel reports about your products sits alongside the rest of your store's monitoring history.
Rabbot is read-only. The Shopify permissions it holds cannot write to, or change, anything in your store. The same restraint applies to any channel you connect: Rabbot reads, and never writes. Where a platform offers no read-only permission for the data a check needs, we enforce read-only in our own code, and the Privacy Policy names each connection and each permission it asks for. Rabbot does not edit your theme, your products, your redirects, your content, or your listings. Acting on what an alert reports is your decision and your work, and you keep full control of it.
Rabbot is a monitoring tool. It is not legal, tax, accounting, or professional advice, and it does not replace your own checks before you publish a change to your store.
3. Who can use Rabbot
You need an active Shopify store, and you must be able to enter into a contract in the place where you are. Rabbot is sold and supplied for business use: it is a tool for running a shop, not a consumer product. If you install it, you are doing so in the course of a business, so the protections that attach to a consumer purchase do not apply to this agreement.
You must not use Rabbot if we have previously ended your access under section 13, unless we have agreed in writing that you may come back.
4. Your account and access
Rabbot is installed from the Shopify App Store onto your store's admin, and it is authenticated by Shopify. There is no separate Rabbot password to choose, share, or lose. That has a consequence worth stating plainly: anyone with staff access to your Shopify admin and permission to open the app can see your Rabbot data and change your Rabbot settings. Controlling who that is happens in Shopify, not here.
You are responsible for what is done under your store's access, including by your staff and by any agency or contractor you give admin access to. If you generate an API token so your own AI assistant can talk to Rabbot, treat it like a password: keep it secret, and revoke it in Rabbot's settings if it ever leaks.
5. Plans, billing & cancellation
Paid plans are billed through Shopify's app billing. When you choose a paid plan, Shopify presents the charge, you approve it inside your Shopify admin, and Shopify bills it alongside the rest of your Shopify invoice. We never see, hold, or store your card details.
There is a free tier. What each plan includes, and what it costs, is shown on Shopify's plan page for Rabbot, which the app links you to, and on our Shopify App Store listing, as they stand when you subscribe. Those are the only two places that carry current plan detail. This page deliberately states no price and no plan limit, so it cannot drift out of step with what you were actually shown and approved.
Charges are billed in advance for each billing period. You can change or cancel your plan at any time on that same Shopify plan page, or end the whole arrangement by uninstalling Rabbot from your Shopify admin. Shopify cancels the subscription at the point you do either, and the paid features stop with it. Rabbot itself never cancels or alters a charge on your behalf: every billing change is made by you, in Shopify. If you downgrade, cancel, or uninstall part way through a period, the unused part of that period is not refunded, except where the law or Shopify's own policy requires it.
If we change what a plan costs or what it includes, we will tell you before the change applies to you, and the change takes effect at your next billing period. A new charge goes through the same Shopify approval step your first one did, so a higher charge never lands without you approving it there. Any taxes due on a charge are handled by Shopify as part of its billing.
6. Acceptable use
Rabbot fetches pages and reads accounts on your behalf, so the rules here are mostly about authorisation. When you use it:
- Monitor only stores, pages, and channels you own or are authorised to manage. If you are an agency, that authorisation has to be real and current.
- Do not point Rabbot at a site you have no permission to probe, and do not use it to scrape or surveil someone else's shop.
- Do not try to break, overload, or work around the service or its limits, and do not attempt to reach another merchant's data.
- Do not resell, sublicense, rent, or white-label the service without our written agreement.
- Do not copy, decompile, or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product.
- Do not use Rabbot for anything unlawful, or to support a store selling something that is unlawful where you or your customers are.
- Keep to Shopify's own terms, and to the terms of every channel you connect.
Breaking these rules is the main thing that gets access suspended or ended (section 13).
7. Your data & privacy
What we access, what we store, what we never touch, and when it is erased are all set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In outline: read-only access, no customer data, EU hosting, encrypted tokens, and a permanent purge after uninstall on the timetable that policy describes.
Your store's data stays yours. You grant us the permission we need to read it, store it, and show it back to you, for one purpose: running the monitoring you installed Rabbot for. We do not sell it. We do not use it for advertising. The one further use is the shared, pseudonymised catch ledger described in the Privacy Policy: we record the bare fact that a problem was caught and what kind it was, stripped of anything that identifies your store, and any figures we publish or share are always calculated across a pool of at least twenty stores, never yours alone. You can opt out at any time from the Settings page in the app, or by emailing us. When you do, we delete the records already collected for your store and stop collecting new ones. Turning collection back on rebuilds your store's records from its history at our next check.
8. Third-party platforms & connected channels
Rabbot sits on top of services we do not own or control: Shopify, and any channel you choose to connect, for example Google, Meta, or TikTok (beta). Each of those is an independent service with its own terms, and your relationship with each is yours, not ours. Connecting one is a separate, deliberate step you take yourself, and you can disconnect it whenever you want.
Where you have authorised it, Rabbot reads data from a connected channel read-only, so it can show you what that channel reports about your products. We do not control those platforms' decisions. If a channel approves, holds, rejects, demotes, or removes one of your products, that is the platform's decision under its own rules and on its own timing. Rabbot reports what it reads. It cannot appeal that decision, reverse it, or influence it, and nothing in these terms should be read as a promise about an outcome on someone else's platform.
We also cannot promise a third-party platform will keep its API, its permissions, or its data available to us. If one changes or withdraws something a check depends on, the affected checks may change or stop. When that happens we will say so in the app rather than leave you believing coverage still stands.
9. Service availability
We work to keep Rabbot running and checking, and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Monitoring is best-effort. Rabbot checks on a recurring cycle, so it finds a change on its next check of that page or product, not as the change happens. Some things will go unreported: a page you have not put under monitoring, a break that appears and clears between two checks, a store that blocks the crawler, a platform that stops answering. Rabbot shortens how long a problem goes unnoticed. It does not guarantee that every problem is noticed, and an alert we do send is a signal to check something, not a certified finding.
We may take the service down for maintenance, and we may change, add, or retire features as the product develops. There is no service level agreement on the free tier. If we ever offer one on a paid plan, it will be a separate written commitment, and nothing on this page implies it.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, conditions, and terms implied by statute or common law, including any implied warranty of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In particular, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that every problem with your store will be detected, that every alert will be accurate, or that acting on an alert will improve your search rankings, your channel listings, your traffic, or your sales. Those outcomes depend on platforms and buyers we do not control.
Nothing here excludes or limits anything that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing takes away a right you hold under mandatory law.
11. Limitation of liability
Neither of us excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of sales, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated savings, loss or corruption of data, or any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises.
Subject to the same, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with these terms or the service, whether in contract, in tort (including negligence), for breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, is limited in aggregate to the total fees paid by you for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose, whether those fees were paid to us or collected from you by Shopify on our behalf. If you are on the free tier and no fees have been paid for the service, that cap is nil, apart from the liabilities in the paragraph above that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Running your store stays your responsibility. Rabbot tells you when a check finds something. It does not fix anything, and it does not take over your own duty to watch your store.
12. Indemnity
You will cover us against a third-party claim that arises directly from your use of Rabbot in breach of section 6, or from monitoring a store, site, or channel you were not authorised to monitor. That is the whole of the indemnity, and it is deliberately narrow.
It does not cover a claim caused by our own act or omission, and it does not cover a claim about how Rabbot itself works. If we want a claim covered, we will tell you about it promptly, let you take part in defending it, and we will not settle it without your agreement.
13. Suspension & termination
You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling Rabbot from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling stops monitoring for your store, and Shopify cancels any paid plan at that point, so the paid features stop with it (section 5 covers what that means for a period already billed). What then happens to your data, and when it is permanently erased, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
We can suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we have to in order to keep to the law or to Shopify's rules, or if what you are doing puts the service or other merchants at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. We may also stop offering the service altogether. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice, and we will not charge you for a period you cannot use.
Sections that by their nature should outlive this agreement do: sections 5 (for fees already accrued before it ended), 7, 10, 11, 12, and 15.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and the law change. If a change is material, we will tell you before it takes effect, in the app or by email to the address on file for your store, and we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Rabbot after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not accept it, uninstall the app.
15. Governing law & general terms
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of them or out of the service (including non-contractual ones), are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over them. That holds whether your business is in the United Kingdom or elsewhere.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that part is read down to what the law allows.
- If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- You may not transfer these terms to anyone else without our written agreement. We may transfer them if the business changes hands, and we will tell you if that happens.
- Nobody who is not a party to these terms may enforce any part of them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
- These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the plan detail Shopify shows you when you subscribe, together with our App Store listing, are the whole agreement between you and Gorevoker Studio about the service.
